Business Mobility Gets a Spotlight At CIO Executive Breakfast


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mobility is the ability to work anytime and anywhere that's the main message from CIO East Africa's Executive Breakfast held at The Fairmount Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi.

The event sponsored by Samsung Enterprises, saw key stakeholders in the industry come together and carry out an interactive discussion on Business Mobility.

Kicking off the event was Manoj Changarampatt, Samsung Business Leader for East and Central Africa, who said that as Samsung they ensure that the consumer has access to our original products as they know that devices are currently being used to serve many purposes. Since 2011 Samsung has also been working with major operators Kenya to ensure that Samsung taps into the smartphone market widely. By providing the Samsung galaxy series. He also pointed out that as Samsung, they plan to bring in their devices into the Kenyan market once they are launched in the Global Market.



Business mobility is the trend toward a shift in work habits, with more employees working out of the office and using mobile devices and cloud services to perform business tasks.

Business mobility enables a workforce to have instant access to information through mobile applications anywhere, anytime. People are fundamentally changing the way they work, and in order to remain competitive, organizations are making enterprise applications accessible through mobile devices.

The beauty of technology is that with smartphones and tablets have actually become powerful devices. Musembi also went further to explain that the demand for mobile devices has surpassed that of PCs whereby they are becoming less popular in the consumer market and tablets and smartphones are becoming popular in businesses as business people want their businesses everywhere. "Modern enterprise of today continues globally and also locally has seen the need for its workforce to gain information and certain level of computing ability on its finger tips today's digital workers have to work anywhere and anytime and enterprise mobility is becoming a major consideration of multiple companies globally and locally." He also pointed out that the more mobile information is the more vulnerable it is to un authorised access, thus as Samsung they have integrated a new Security Solution to its devices from Samsung S3 called the Samsung Knox, for its android based mobile platforms to satisfy the device management security needs for business and government management customers. In addition there is a solution for enterprises called SAFE, (Samsung For Enterprises), which is business ready and IT compliant so as an employee can stay connected with co-workers, conduct business and keep up with their busy schedule safely and securely. SAFE features can be found in Samsung Galaxy S4 Samsung Galaxy s 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.0. All this are steps taken to ensure safety of enterprise mobility by Samsung.
