Dom: Giant phone was half-inched [People, The (England)](People, The (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TELLY prankster Dom Joly has confessed he stole the huge phone that propelled him to stardom on his first show Trigger Happy TV. The 46-year-old joker pinched the massive prop from outside a mobile phone shop in London. He said the 2ft-long replica of a 1990s mobile helped kickstart his hiddencamera Channel 4 show. Dom was filmed shouting loudly into the device in quiet locations such as golf courses, cinemas, and libraries - to the horror of unsuspecting onlookers. He said: "I'd actually pinched it a few years earlier. I picked it up, started playing with it and sort of walked off with it." Dom, whose latest wacky show was Fool Britannia on ITV, added: "We had to put an aerial on to make it look real back then.
