Introducing: The BioTech Expo


SARASOTA, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

ABOUT THE EXPO: BioFlorida's Sarasota-Bradenton Chapter debuts the first BioTech Expo in the region to include a combination Life Science Poster & Vendor Event on the evening of Wednesday, September 10th, 2014 at New College of Florida along the Sarasota Bay in College Hall. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and will adjourn at 7:30 p.m., includes a brief ceremony recognizing the new scientists in both the academic and private sector, and a special acknowledgment to the new professors and science instructors joining the academic community in 2014.

The purpose of the BioTech Expo is to highlight the strong STEM infrastructure being offered by the more than 15 higher education colleges, universities and institutes in the life sciences and technology in the Sarasota/Bradenton area.

The event will highlight the innovation, research and healthcare being pursued in the life sciences. A special emphasis will be explored as to how the arts are becoming influential in the discovery and innovation where this community actually expands on the STEM programs and welcome a new member in the Arts to the acronym: STEAM. Come and enjoy the early evening on the Bay as students, interns, biotech start-ups, science majors and research programs come to explore the "Best In Class" in Sarasota/Bradenton.

The BioTech Expo is a free event and open to the public, however, registration is encouraged through the BioFlorida website (www.bioflorida.com) and is open to the first 125 registrations. Wine and beer will be available for purchase, and the event will be held at he majestic College Hall on the New College Campus.
