Armenia : UCOM in partnership with ALCATEL-LUCENT install 100G backbone network [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ucom, an Armenian operator, declared that it has installed a 100 Gbps backbone network, in conjunction with Alcatel-Lucent. The company deployed the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) switch as the key element of the 100G WDM/Optical Transport Network platform. The operator with this new fibre network will be able to achieve around 100 Gbps data transmission speed. Ucom with the new infrastructure will render triple-play services over FTTH technology.
