Barton Community College Silver Cougar Club to Host 'Exploring the Internet'


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GREAT BEND, Kan., Aug. 26 -- Barton Community College (formerly the Barton County Community College) issued the following news release: The Internet is an amazing invention, and it is a part of almost anything and everything in some way or the other. Barton Community College is offering a course to help people become more familiar with some of the basics of exploring this vast network of information from 1-4 p.m. every Wednesday, Sept. 10 - Oct. 15 at the Center for Adult Education, 1025 Main St., room D-107.



Instructor Rich Unrein will teach students how to use links, customize and perform searches, run virus scans, organize a favorites list and much more. Google and Firefox will be covered, as well as how to keep your computer files cleaned up and eliminate slow running times. The class will also focus on some email basics such as how to use Microsoft Outlook to set up an e-mail account, create and edit your address book, use your task manager and create appointments or meetings. The course is designed to create a level of comfort and familiarity for all students when using the Internet and email.

Cost of the course is $32 for Silver Cougar Club members and $91 for non-members. For more information, please contact Coleen Cape at (620) 786-1136. There is a maximum number of 12 for this class.
