$185,000 in Education Technology and Services Up for Grabs in Nationwide Contest for K-12 Students and TeachersAUSTIN, Texas --(Business Wire)-- As schools get back in session across the country, Compass (News - Alert) Learning, a leader in personalized learning, is kicking off a nationwide contest to celebrate the difference technology can make for K-12 students and teachers. Today, the company announced details of its Compass Learning® Classroom Refresh ContestTM, which will "refresh" three classrooms with education technology and services valued at $185,000. "We can't wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm this contest inspires in students as they vie for engaging, interactive technology that will help create rich learning environments," said Eileen Shihadeh, Vice President at Compass Learning. Students and teachers across America are invited to submit short, creative music videos expressing how educational technology will enhance the learning experience in the classroom. Entries for the 2014 Classroom Refresh Contest may be submitted via the official contest website, www.ClassroomRefreshContest.com beginning September 19. Videos will be judged based on overall creativity and spirit of the entry, effectiveness of expressing how the use of technology enhances personalized learning in the classroom, and the production quality of the video. Submissions will close at 11:59:59 AM EDT on October 24. On November 3, five finalists from each grade category (K5, 6-8, and 9-12) will be announced and the public will be invited to vote for the best submissions through December 1. One grand prize winner will be announced for each grade category on or around December 10, 2014.
