Globe cites postpaid business as biggest growth driver

The company's postpaid segment once again posted double digit-growth in revenues and customer base versus previous year's levels, with revenues reaching P14.6 billion in the first half of the year, up 11% from the same period last year at P13.1 billion. As a solid contributor to overall mobile business, postpaid revenues formed 39% of total mobile revenues as of end-June 2014.

Meanwhile, postpaid customer base hit 2.1 million, a 10% growth from previous year's 1.9 million. The continued success and take-up of the company's fully-customizable postpaid plans, exclusive device offers and innovative deals, as well as expanded distribution and sales channels, helped sustain gross additions to reach close to 400,000 for the first six months of the year, up 12% in the same period last year amid intense competition in the postpaid market.
