Word matters [Global Times]

(Global Times Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Illustration: Luo Xuan/GT  "It is made from the breast milk used to feed infants."A retailer from Taizhou, Zhejiang Province said this in response to questions about the safety of the breast milk in the "breast milk soap" she sells online. She added that the breast milk is from her sister. At present, there are around 3,800 stores selling "breast milk soap" on Taobao, China's largest online retail platform. The soaps weigh roughly 0.1 kilogram per bar, and prices range from 20 yuan ($3.25) to 100 yuan. Sellers claim that washing with the soaps helps to whiten skin and maintain a youthful complexion, but some dermatologists have warned consumers to be careful when using such soaps, as breast milk can carry a range of diseases if proper sanitation measures are not put in place.
