Answering questions on computers and internet [Daily Post (Liverpool, England)]

(Daily Post (Liverpool, England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Q My friend uses something called 'Facetime' to contact her family in Cardi, but I cannot nd it in my Kindle app store. How do I get it? A Facetime is a video chat application that allows you to have a video conversation over the internet, as does Skype.

e main drawback with Facetime is that it is an Apple application that is only available for their products, therefore is not available for your Kindle.

You should be able to download Skype though, or could also consider other alternatives such as Google Hangouts or Viber.

QI have been helping my sister learn how to use her new computer, and quite enjoyed helping her understand how to use it.

Is there any way of helping others? I am not technically minded or anything but am fairly good at the basics.

A ERE is a growing demand for people such as yourself to help people learn the basics of everyday computer use, and I would be happy to help you nd groups or individuals to help.

I can supply simple lesson plans to follow, and even run train the trainer workshops - designed to give you condence in your own abilities.

I would be grateful if you gave me a call to discuss further - this applies to anyone in Gwynedd who is interested in helping others to use IT.

You do not need to be a technical genius (I'm not for a start!), just enjoy helping others and possibly learning more yourself.

If you have a couple of hours to spare a week, and can use Google to nd a cheesecake recipe, then I want you! QI am worried about my passwords as my husband says that using our house name and daughter's name is too obvious - but I know I will never remember complicated ones. Any hints? Your husband (for once) is Your husband (for once) is AAcorrect. A recent trick I read about, and was impressed with, was to use song lyrics eg -'My, my, at Waterloo Napoleon did surrender' (Abba), gives you 'mmawnds' using the rst letter of each word.

is should begin a new trend of people humming in front of their computers, trying to remember their passwords!
