France : Ingenico Group, FreedomPay and ScanSource consortium power the first PCI-certified P2PE and EMV payment solution in North America [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ingenico Group, global leader in seamless payment, has joined with FreedomPay, a state-of-the-art commerce platform and payment processor, and ScanSource, Inc., the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, to release the first Payment Card Industry (PCI)-certified, fully-functional, point-to-point encryption (P2PE) payment solution in North America.

Leveraging secure devices, applications and processes Ingenico s On-Guard and the FreedomPay Commerce Platform the joint solution offers retailers one of the most secure payment solutions available in North America. ScanSource will provide FreedomPay with product support, integration, staging and deployment services around the solution. The solution covers electronic payments made by magnetic stripe, EMV and NFC, and will be the first to provide PIN Debit and even hand-keyed transactions. According to the PCI Security Standards Council, only Council-listed P2PE solutions are recognized as meeting the requirements necessary for merchants to reduce the scope of their cardholder data environment through use of a P2PE solution.

Security is a critical part of Ingenico s business DNA. We have three decades of experience providing the most advanced card data security solutions in the payments market, said Gregory Boardman, Senior Vice President of Software and Development at Ingenico, North America. Our new consortium with FreedomPay and ScanSource provides retailers with a PCI-certified P2PE solution. In the fight against fraud, there are no greater technologies than EMV and encryption. This powerful combination has been proven to reduce card data compromise at the point-of-sale. When retailers can focus on their core business without wondering if their customers data is secure, the result is real value for the merchant.

OTG is among the first customers to successfully use the newly certified security platform. Recently named to the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company, OTG operates more than 200 airport food and beverage restaurants and eateries in ten of the largest airports in North America.

We selected Ingenico Group and FreedomPay because of their independently proven track records. Data theft is a reality in the retail business and we wanted the most secure solution available. This is the only option with full certification, said Albert Lee, Chief Technology Officer at OTG. Being able to leverage one device over one processing platform to securely accept traditional credit cards, NFC, mobile and EMV is the best solution for our international business clientele. There is a lot of misinformation in the market today regarding payment security standards.
