ReliableCoders and UTTC Team Up to Build M-learning App to Enhance Career Skills among Native Americans

SUNNYVALE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

ReliableCoders, a fast growing mobile solutions company has teamed up with the United Tribes Technical College - TCC DeMaND Project to build an m-learning application that would help advance the school's educational programs among the Native American community.

One of the main objectives of the program is to develop industry-specific online coursework and provide technology-enabled learning among workers and students via the web and mobile applications.

The mobile app and responsive web application developed by ReliableCoders will provide educational content via social media integration including push notifications as students transition into the workforce.

The project addresses the low employment rate and economic growth that has created a critical workforce shortage within many industries in North Dakota and Montana by offering short-term trainings such as Welding, Construction Technology, CDL/HEO, and Electrical Technology.

"By implementing the DeMaND app, we hope that all of our current and former students will take advantage of this supportive learning tool. The app will allow instructors to communicate with students outside of the classroom, assist graduates with employment opportunities, and resume building," said Rae Gunn, DeMaND Project Director.

UI/UX experts from ReliableCoders spent a week in North Dakota and Montana, talking to instructors in order to gain an understanding of their needs including their level of tech savviness, access to Internet, and communication skills.

"This project is unique because it was imperative to gain an in-depth understanding of the users of this application. The success and adoption of the solution relies heavily on usability and our designers ensured that they understood the needs of the end-user by conducting user research to design an app that would be easily adopted," said Dev Gandhi, CEO, ReliableCoders.

Mobile learning is growing in leaps and bounds as educational and not-for-profit organizations look to leverage mobility in order to improve adoption, access, and reach of their educational programs.
