Data Theorem Named Gazelle Champion at First Ever ISE® Lions' Den in VegasCloud Passage, ThreatTrack Named Runners Up in Challenge for New Security Companies

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Las Vegas & Atlanta (PRWEB) August 19, 2014 T.E.N., an information technology and security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm, named Data Theorem the Gazelle Champion during The ISE® Lions' Den and Jungle Lounge on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Vdara Hotel and Spa at Aria in Las Vegas.

The first event of its kind, The ISE® Lions' Den matched TEN of the security industry's hottest emerging companies (Gazelles) against a panel of leading CISOs with tech-heavy backgrounds (ISE® Lions) who had a strong interest in new technology. Gazelles were invited to give a 10-minute "pitch" of their solution inside the private ISE® Lions Den for the chance to win more than $10,000 in prizes. Each of the Gazelles was judged by the ISE® Lions based on the following criteria: vision, innovation and ability to stand out in a crowded market, traction and foundation for success, and quality of their pitch.

ISE® Lions included: Joe Bennett, Chief Information Security Officer, YP David Cass, SVP & Chief Information Security Officer, Elseiver Renee Guttmann, VP, Office of the CISO, Accuvant John Masserini, Chief Security Officer, MIAX Options Yonesy Nunez, SVP, Information Security Leader – International Business, Wells Fargo Vas Rajan, Managing Director & Chief Information Security Officer, CLS Bank International Jim Routh, Chief Information Security Officer, Aetna Carolyn Taisey-Lear, Senior Manager, Information Security and Risk Management, Workday "The ever-evolving threat landscape has generated high demand for new, innovative security solutions, but it is very difficult for emerging companies to survive without the opportunity to implement in a real, operational environment in order to prove their value and gain the trust of large enterprise security leaders," said T.E.N. President & CEO Marci McCarthy. "We created the ISE® Lions Den & Jungle Lounge to connect emerging companies with buyers, investors, and channel partners in an effort to solve business needs for all involved, and we are thrilled by how much energy and excitement was created by our first effort." Data Theorem, a cloud-enabled scanning service for mobile application security and data privacy, was selected as the Gazelle Champion. CEO and Founder Himanshu Dwivedi pitched the company's solution which scans mobile applications on a continuous basis in search of security flaws and data privacy gaps. The ISE® Lions found the product innovative and the pitch extremely effective, ultimately selecting Data Theorem as the first ever Gazelle Champion.

"The ISE® Lions' Den was a unique, interesting, and lively gathering for the InfoSec community. By placing 10 early-age start-ups in the same room with CSOs/SVPs, the event was able to organically create a showcase on how to solve big-company problems with new and creative solutions," said Dwivedi. "This unique model forced starts-ups to 'cut-to-the-chase' when describing their solution; however, also forced CSO/SVPs to embrace new/unique solutions that would otherwise be overshadowed by marketing dollars and sales hype. Data Theorem was proud to be part of the inaugural event." Runners up included: Cloud Passage, a cloud security company and creator of Halo®, the industry's only security automation platform purpose-built for virtualized and cloud infrastructure environments; and ThreatTrack Security, an emerging company that specializes in helping organizations identify and eliminate Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), targeted attacks and other sophisticated malware that are designed to evade the traditional cyber defenses deployed by enterprises and government agencies worldwide. Other participating Gazelles included Click Security, GuruCul, HyTrust, NetSkope, Norse, ObserveIT and Vectra Networks.

"The Gazelle pitches were each well thought out and clearly communicated their differentiators," said McCarthy. "We were pleasantly surprised at how unique, and in some cases complimentary, these companies are in this crowded landscape. The ISE® Lions' Den was the perfect program for them to share these qualities with potential buyers, investors and business partners." The ISE® Lions Den was held with a concurrent reception-style "Jungle Lounge," which featured dining, cocktails and space for Gazelles to network with potential customers, investors and partners.
