(Lima News (OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 16--AWARDS Mark Stolly recognized The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors honored Mark Stolly, of Stolly Insurance Group, in Lima, for dedication and leadership in the insurance industry.



Stolly was awarded a certificate of achievement, recognizing five consecutive years of active affiliation with the Society of CIC. The CIC designation carries prestige in the insurance profession as it signifies commitment to advanced knowledge and customer service.

PROMOTIONS First Federal Bank promotes five employees First Federal Bank has promoted five associates.


Doug Blackwood has been promoted to vice president, retail operations manager. Blackwood has been with First Federal since 1998 and is responsible for supporting First Federal's sales and service goals. He earned his degree in business and marketing from the University of Toledo and is a member of Crossroads Church in Napoleon.

Deb Burkey has been promoted to vice president, retail channel manager. Burkey has been with First Federal since 1995 and is currently responsible for planning, developing and implementing retail products and services to increase market share. She is also responsible for coordinating and communicating the introduction of new retail products. Burkey earned her degree in business management from Defiance College. She is a member of Napoleon Church of Nazarene.

John Cates has been promoted to assistant vice president, operations division assistant manager. He has been with the bank since 2010 and is currently responsible for check processing, file transmission and statement and notice processing for the item processing and mail-room departments. He earned his bachelor's degree in telecommunications, information systems and media with a specialization in information technology management from Michigan State University.

Amy Daeger has been promoted to senior vice president, director of retail administration. Daeger has been with First Federal Bank since 1999 and is responsible for planning, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies throughout First Federal's retail footprint. She earned her bachelor's degree from Defiance College and serves on the Defiance College Alumni Executive Board.

Bob Meyerhoffer has been promoted to vice president, deposit operations division manager. He has been with First Federal since 2012 and is responsible for management, supervision, and implementation of the strategic objectives of First Federal's deposit operations departments. Meyerhoffer earned his bachelor's degree in organization management from Bluffton College and his associate's degree in accounting from Lima Technical College. He is a member of Glandorf St. John's Catholic Church, where he is a Eucharistic minister.

CERTIFICATIONS Schroeder receives certification Sue Schroeder, with ERA Geyer-Noakes Realty Group, in Ottawa, has achieved the Cartus Network Affinity Specialist certification, plus the Cartus Marketing and Buyer Specialist certifications. These designations are part of the Certified Agent Advantage program, a professional standard available exclusively to the member of the Cartus Broekr Network.

FAA recognizes Matthew Ellis Rockhold The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is recognizing Matthew Ellis Rockhold, of Lima, with inclusion in the prestigious FAA Airman Certification Database.

The database names Rockhold and other certified pilots who have met or exceeded the high educational, licensing and medical standards established by the FAA.

Rockhold has been flying since he was 16-years-old and is a 2004 graduate of Bath High School/Apollo JVS and a 2006 graduate of The Pittsburgh Institute of Aviation. He has been a first officer on the CRJ-700 jet with Dallas based American Eagle Airlines since 2008.

CONFERENCES Allen County officials address conference Allen County Probate Juvenile Judge Glenn H. Derryberry and Children Services Executive Director Cynthia M. Scanland were featured speakers at Ohio's Big Brothers Big Sisters state conference in Columbus.

Derryberry and Scanland guided attendees through Ohio's juvenile justice system and stressed the impact mentors can make when they accompany children through the system.

In addition, Cathy L. Follett, director of intervention services for the Allen County Juvenile Court, and Jamie L. Hardwick, Family Resource Center's mental health liaison, assisted in the presentation.

John B. Neville, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio in Lima, served as moderator.
