BSD Crown Says Apple Makes New Filing In Patent Infringement Battle(Alliance News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LONDON (Alliance News) - BSD Crown Ltd, formerly Emblaze Ltd, Tuesday said Apple Inc has filed a claim to uphold the decision that it did not infringe on the former's media-streaming patents. BSD, which also confirmed its name change Tuesday, said Apple's move comes after BSD filed a motion on Monday that Apple did infringe a media streaming patent it holds, despite a jury decision in July which ruled the US technology group did not infringe on the patent. BSD said its filing seeks either a judgement from the judge who oversaw the original case that Apple did infringe on US patent number 6,389,473 with its HTTP Live Streaming Technology, or a new trial. The new filing by Apple seeks to uphold that BSD's claims are invalid or to grant a new trial on the invalidity of the claims. BSD shares were flat on Tuesday, quoted at 30.36 pence.
