Microsoft partners with Amazon India [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)](DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) "Bangalore: Microsoft has entered into a retail partnership with ecommerce giant Amazon India to sell its entire range of interactive and entertainment business portfolio including Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Kinect, Xbox Accessories. According to Chakrapani Gollapali, country general manager, consumer channels group, Microsoft Corporation India, the collaboration with Amazon will provide a platform to build an unprecedented level for the gaming and entertainment category in the country. "This is the first time that we will be focusing on retailing our products through an online only channel, and we look forward to bringing the gaming portfolio to Indians through Amazon," said Gollapali. Samir Kumar, director, category management, Amazon India, said this collaboration for the gaming category will give Amazon the opportunity to forge deeper engagement with gaming enthusiasts. As announced earlier, the Xbox One will be available in India from September 23, 2014, and will be priced at Rs39,990. While the Xbox One with Kinect will be available at Rs45,990. According to Anshu Mor, director, Interactive entertainment business, Microsoft India, the company is also committed to bring local movies, music and on-demand TV as part of the entertainment portfolio for the Xbox Live service. "We will continue to support sales of Xbox 360 portfolio till 30th of August across our existing retail channels, post which the portfolio will become exclusive to Amazon," said Mor.
