TexanPlus® Champions Begins Online Voting

HOUSTON & BEAUMONT, Texas --(Business Wire)--

TexanPlus, a local Medicare Advantage health plan, in collaboration with the Houston Astros, announced today that online voting is under way for the TexanPlus Grand Champion. TexanPlus created TexanPlus Champions to honor individuals who help older adults live a healthier and happier life.

The community can vote daily at www.TexanPlusChampions.com for the TexanPlus Champion story most worthy of being named the TexanPlus Grand Champion. Online voting runs through September 12, 2014. TexanPlus will donate $25,000 to the winner's charity of choice based on the number of online votes received.

"We are very proud of the work being done by this year's TexanPlus Champions," said Erin Page, president of TexanPlus. "We are delighted to be honoring each finalist at five upcoming Houston Astros games. We are asking the local community to read their personal stories and vote for one Grand Champion."

TexanPlus Champions are your neighbors, your friends, your colleagues. They are Southeast Texas residents who are an example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of older adults. The competition is a way to recognize people who share TexanPlus' goals of improving quality of life and maximizing access to services for seniors and people with Medicare.

Each TexanPlus Champion is featured on www.TexanPlusChampions.com where their stories are told. Then, through word-of-mouth attention and public awareness, TexanPlus is asking people to vote for a Grand Campion winner. The recognized individuals and their designated charities also are reaching out to ask for votes.
