Senkatel® Releases First Purpose-Built Education Chromebook™ with Long Battery Life

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TORONTO (PRWEB) August 07, 2014 Senkatel Corporation, a global supplier of high-performance affordable tablets, peripherals, and software ecosystems solutions for education and enterprise markets, today introduced its first purpose-built Google® Chromebook™ with design features and internet-accessible software applications targeting the K-12 education market. Senkatel, in collaboration with Intel® Education Solutions, now offers Intel processor-based Google Android™ OS education tablets and a ruggedized Chromebook that addresses the rapidly growing demand for high-performance, durable and cost-effective mobile IT learning solutions in North American schools.

The Senkatel C1101 Chromebook builds on the popularity of consumer-grade Chromebooks with unique features that are critical to today's classroom environment. It features a 3-cell, 3200mAh/cell (36Wh) battery that operates up to 9.5-hours on a single charge to ensure device productivity throughout the school day. Equally important, the battery is also serviceable by the school's IT staff, eliminating significant repair and warranty downtime.

The device integrates a water-resistant, ergonomic keyboard with anti-peel keys and a touchpad that channels liquids away from the electronics to prevent damage. The C1101 has a ruggedized design capable of withstanding bumps and drops up to 70cm. Extra reinforcement has also been applied around all ports, including its full HDMI port, 1 x USB 3.0 and 1 x USB 2.0 ports, its Kensington security lock slot, and all mechanical hinges. When not in use, an integrated carry handle allows students to hang the device in their storage locker rather than vertically stacking heavy items on it.

The C1101 features an anti-glare, 11.6-inch, high-definition 1366 x 768 TFT-LCD screen with In-Plane Switching (IPS™) – a wide-viewing angle technology that maintains clear color reproduction even at off-axis viewing conditions. The tablet is powered by an Intel Celeron® N2830 processor operating at 2.16 GHz, and includes 2GB of SDRAM system memory with a 16GB solid state drive. Unique to the C1101 is an additional 100GB of Google Drive™ cloud-based storage at no extra charge for the first two years.

"Senkatel continues to address the K-12 education market need for high-quality, affordably priced Internet-enabled devices and software," said Joseph Virginia, president of Senkatel USA. "Our new C1101 Chromebook allows educators and students to access a wide array of classroom management, lesson planning, and educational software content directly through the Google Play for Education™ website." The C1101's connectivity features exceed most consumer-grade tablets and Chromebooks with Bluetooth® 4.0 and 2x2 dual-band Wi-Fi® 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n operating in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, offering additional Internet access flexibility for school systems' legacy wireless infrastructures. The rotatable camera and microphone can be angled to capture images, video and support scientific inquiry activities. A fan-less design eliminates distracting noise.

The C1101 is available immediately through SYNNEX Corporation at an MSP of $313.99, which includes a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Discounts are available for volume purchases -within Senkatel standard manufacturing lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQ).
