IDEA Announces Leadership Transition

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ST. LOUIS, Aug. 5 -- The National Association of Electrical Distributors issued the following news release: The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) announces its support of the leadership transition at IDEA. Earlier today, IDEA released a statement saying that president and CEO Bob Gaylord has stepped down to pursue other areas of interest.

"We would like to thank Bob for his dedication and contribution to the industry during the past seven years," said NAED President/CEO Tom Naber. "We wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors." IDEA, jointly owned by NAED and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), is a business-to-business technology service provider.

In light of Gaylord's departure, the IDEA Board of Directors has named Chris Curtis, former CEO of Schneider Electric's North American Operations, current chair of the NEMA Board of Governors, and IDEA Board member, to manage the day-to-day operation while leading the search for a new executive officer.

This year, NAED and NEMA have worked together to bring a renewed focus to IDEA's mission of being a single source of complete, high quality data delivered efficiently and cost effectively.

"This is an exciting time for the industry," Naber said. "With the new IDEA board, we have entered a new era of industry cooperation. We are all working together and headed in the same direction." TNS 18EstebanLiz-140806-30FurigayJane-4820397 30FurigayJane (c) 2014 Targeted News Service
