The Blue Star Veterans Network And Ambio Health Establish Partnership To Deliver Platform To Monitor Health Of Aging Veterans

BETHESDA, Md. --(Business Wire)--

Retired Admiral Robert O. Wray, Jr., President of The Blue Star Veterans Network, announced today a partnership between Blue Star and Ambio Health. The technology will provide hardware and software to allow Blue Star clients to be safe and to monitor their health. Terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

Together, Ambio and Blue Star technologies will provide early notice of potentially dangerous conditions. Approximately eighty-eight percent of seniors have at least one chronic health condition such as heart and cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or obesity. The Ambio software helps seniors to manage these conditions; to avoid unnecessary hospital visits; and trips to the emergency room.

Launching in October 2014, The Blue Star Veterans Network will integrate hardware, software, processes and a human monitoring/assistance team to help vets and their families live free and independently. The signature product, The Blue Star Service Watch, is one of the many available services that will be offered. The watch is an attractive everyday item that provides help to veterans in need by automatically calling a 24 hour/7 day-a-week monitoring center. The monitoring center will provide whatever assistance is required - from calling a family member to reaching out to 911 for medical emergency.

"We are delighted to partner with Ambio Health to deliver first-class, in-home health monitoring to our deserving veterans and their families," said Admiral Wray. "As a member of a family with several men and women who have served our country, I believe this technology will have a major impact on improving the lives of all veterans."

"We created Ambio so that patients would have a more affordable, easier to use system for monitoring the most critical components of their health," said Kevin Jones, founder and chief executive officer, Ambio Health. "We are thrilled to partner with Blue Star to provide this technology to veterans, who deserve the highest quality healthcare available. We are very proud to serve this community, and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Blue Star."
