TP-LINK Canada Introduces AV600 Powerline Kit for High-Speed and Reliable Connectivity in Home Networks

(Marketwire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 30, 2014) - Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this Press Release.

TP-LINK Canada Inc. today introduced the TP-LINK(R) AV600 Gigabit Powerline Adapter Starter kit - the TL-PA6010KIT - transforming a home's existing electrical wiring into a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet network.

With data transfer rates of up to 600 Mbps, the TL-PA6010KIT can easily transmit multiple HD streams, and is much faster than typical Wi-Fi speeds, especially when a wireless signal needs to reach different levels of a home and move across walls.

The Powerline TL-PA6010 adapter is unobtrusive, measuring only 63mm wide x 47mm deep x 40mm high, and comes with a single high-speed Gigabit Ethernet port: connect to any Ethernet compatible wired device such as a set-top box, game console or NAS Media Server for optimal performance of all bandwidth-intensive applications.

Powerline versus Traditional CAT-5 Cabling Setting up a Powerline network is effortless compared with stringing traditional CAT-5 cabling throughout a home: simply connect the first adapter to a home router; place the second adapter into the wall socket where the connection needs to be extended (up to a 300 meter range); then press the "Pair" button. In less than 30 seconds, a Powerline network is quickly established, complete with 128-bit AES security encryption.

Additionally, the network can be readily extended by adding Powerline adapters in sets of two (all adapters must be HomePlug AV compliant).

Other TL-PA6010KIT Adapter Features The TL-PA6010KIT adapter offers a unique power-saving mode, reducing power consumption by up to 80%; (1) supports the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) for enhanced IPTV streaming; and features Quality of Service (QoS) - a multimedia optimization function - which prioritizes the bandwidth requirements of data traffic, including voice, video and online gaming.

Highlights -- Data transfer rates up to 600Mbps over the electrical wiring of a home -- Up to a 300 meter range -- Ultra-compact design with no obstruction of adjacent outlet plugs -- Power-saving mode reduces power consumption by up to 80% ( 1 ) -- No new wires or drilling required -- Simple plug n' play setup -- 128-bit AES secure encryption -- HomePlug AV compliant "The TP-LINK AV600 Powerline kit offers high-speed Gigabit Ethernet performance using a home's existing electrical wiring, says Mark Macaulay, director of sales for TP-LINK Canada. "With TP-LINK Powerline, you just place an adapter in a room where reliable connectivity is desired and start enjoying your home entertainment network. It is that simple to setup." Availability and Pricing The TP-LINK TL-PA6010KIT Powerline Adapter Starter Kit is available now at a suggested list price of $94.99 from TP-LINK's vast retail and online partner network across Canada.
