Zimbra Acquires Mezeo [Professional Services Close - Up](Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Zimbra reported its acquisition of Mezeo. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In its release, Zimbra said that with Mezeo's strong technology portfolio, which includes patents that cover aspects of storage efficiency and file security, Zimbra will expand its unified collaboration suite with file-sync-and-share, reflecting its commitment to secure and private collaboration. "Secure file-sync-and-share is critical for today's users, and it's one of the capabilities Zimbra customers request most often," said Patrick Brandt, CEO of Zimbra. "With the acquisition of Mezeo, we are expanding our product offering to now include user-friendly file-sync-and-share, while also enabling complete control over data, which provides tremendous value to our customers and partners worldwide." According to Forrester, "With consumerization driving employees to bring personal smartphones and tablets to work, employees' need to synchronize files grew from a whisper to a scream over the past few years. Twenty-one percent of global information workers use file sync solutions. The scream will grow louder as the number of tablets will triple to 905 million by 2017 to join the billions of computers and smartphones used for work."
