California Resident Elected to Ducks Unlimited's National Board of Directors

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MEMPHIS, Tenn., July 24 -- Ducks Unlimited issued the following news release: Al Montna, of Yuba City, California, was elected to Ducks Unlimited Inc.'s national board of directors during the organization's annual convention held recently in St. Louis.

"The leadership of our board of directors ensures we are fulfilling our mission to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl," said DU CEO Dale Hall. "Our board members are not paid for their work; rather they volunteer their time and resources because they feel so strongly about conservation. I welcome each new member and look forward to working with them in the years to come." Al has been involved with Ducks Unlimited since the 1960s as a hunter, and it is his strong belief in the connections between rice farming, the people it helps feed and the opportunity to improve habitat for waterfowl that solidified his connection to DU. As the chairman of Montna Farms in the Central Valley of California, he is also the co-chair of the USA Rice-DU Stewardship Partnership, which serves as a model of cooperation and communication between the two groups.

"You have to give back a lot more than you take to enjoy this glorious resource," said Al. "People have a choice, and I know DU puts its resources on the ground. This is one organization that has few peers." Al additionally serves on DU's Conservation Programs Committee, and he and his wife, Gail, are DU Diamond Benefactor Sponsors and President's Council members.
