The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC) Appoints its First Team of Administrators

(Canada Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MONTREAL, July 24, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC) announces its first Board of Directors, as well as the appointment of Denis Faubert as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Composed of industry stakeholders from across the country, the Board of Directors will be chaired by Mr. Walter Di Bartolomeo, Vice President, Engineering, Pratt & Whitney Canada. "I am honoured and delighted to be chairing this important new collaborative research and development network," said Mr. Di Bartolomeo. "I look forward to working closely with my fellow CARIC board members and our stakeholders from industry, academia and research institutions to advance innovation in Canada's aerospace industry and take us to the next level." For President and CEO Denis Faubert, the key to CARIC's success lies in its inclusive approach.  "Each year, our industry invests $1.7 billion in research and development. CARIC will allow the best in Canadian aerospace to converge resources so that our community remains a leader in the sector," he stated.

Mr. Faubert will combine his new duties to his role as President and CEO of the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ), a mandate entrusted to him last April. Starting CARIC operations will thus be facilitated given that it is based on the CRIAQ model, which is repeatedly cited as a best practice example at the national and international level.

About CARIC Officially launched on April 17, 2014, the Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC) is a non-profit organisation that unites Canadian stakeholders and promotes coast to coast collaboration.
