Spain : Indra to deploy its leading railroad control and signaling technology on high-speed rail links to Burgos and Leon for more than 35MN [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Indra, alongside Alstom and Bombardier, is part of a consortium awarded the contract to supply ERTMS level 2 signaling systems to the Valladolid-León and Venta de Baños-Burgos high-speed rail lines, The multinational will provide the software that controls the full signaling system (CTC), as well as national automatic train protection systems and security sensor concentrators based on Indra's innovative safety platform, as well as the associated sensors, Indra will also install the entire fixed telecommunications network, security systems and DaVinci system, which was developed in partnership with Adif, to control rail traffic on the new lines, The contract further reinforces Indra's position in the rail signaling business and consolidates its leading role in railroad system management.

Indra is to deploy its proprietary and cutting-edge railroad control, security and signaling technology to the high-speed rail lines between Valladolid and Leon and Venta de Baños and Burgos for more than 35mn. The company will additionally receive sums for facility maintenance. Along with Alstom and Bombardier, Indra is part of the Adif consortium that won the contract to install ERTMS level 2 signaling systems on the new lines and perform maintenance on the same for 20 years, for a total in excess of 410mn.

The project confirms Indra's standout position in rail signaling, with the multinational responsible for deploying the Centralized Traffic Control system on the new line. This is the software that centralizes and controls all signaling systems required for the line to operate properly. The company will also supply auxiliary detection systems and security sensor concentrators, based on an innovative Indra safety platform. This is the vital processing system that guarantees the security of rolling stock and full integration with the various signaling systems.

The lines will also benefit from the latest version of Indra's ASFA system (Signal Announcement and Automatic braking), the Spanish ATP (automatic train protection) security system, thus enabling safe use of the rail infrastructure and automating the control and supervision of train traffic. The digital ASFA system developed by the company has been installed on approximately one third of all trains operating in Spain, but this the first time that Indra has implemented the ASFA system on-track.

As part of the project Indra will also supply systems for telecommunications, video surveillance, access control and all general security systems.
