Normand Chouinard Appointed Executive Vice-President, Investments of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ
(Canada Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MONTREAL, July 21, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Gaétan Morin, is pleased to announce the appointment of Normand Chouinard as Executive Vice-President, Investments. Mr. Chouinard has been the Fonds' head of investments for the last three years.
"Not only is Normand Chouinard a seasoned and respected investor within Québec's business community, he has an excellent understanding of the Fonds' socioeconomic mission," said Gaétan Morin. "Considering his extensive investment knowledge and management skills, I'm sure he will be successful in this role." Mr. Chouinard will also now sit on the Fonds' management committee.

Normand Chouinard joined the Fonds in 1998 as general manager of the Fonds régional de solidarité FTQ Montérégie. After a brief tenure at Accès Capital, a former subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Mr. Chouinard returned to the Fonds in 2004 as Investment Director, Agrifood, Chemistry and Plastics. He then went on to serve, in turn, as Senior Vice-President, Natural Resources, Industries and Consumer Goods, and Head of Investments. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds de solidarité, Mr. Chouinard worked at BMO Financial Group, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Desjardins Group. Mr. Chouinard holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in finance from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR).
