Omantel launches video conferencing service [Week, The (Oman)]

Omantel is launching a new service Managed Video conferencing as a Service (MVaaS) – for its corporate customers, according to a press release.
The service enables corporates and government organisations to conduct and manage their video conferencing sessions seamlessly as point to point or multipoint within the country or outside over a public network or via Internet Leased Lines (ILL) connectivity.
Ali Bakhit Kashoob, senior manager, product development at Omantel's Corporate Business Unit said, "The service helps our cus tomers manage their meetings in a very effective and efficient manner through video using ADSL, Internet Leased Lines (ILL) or even ISDN local or international point to point connectivity at high speeds."
Kashoob added that this service provides corporate customers with options to enhance their productivity, and save money and costs with a high level of security.
"The service eliminates distances and geographical challenges that had been a major concern for large corporates. Apart from enhancing productivity and efficiency, MVaaS pro vides other intangible benefits to our customer reflected in the savings made in the transportation costs as well as reducing the risks that may arise from the movement of staff."
