Dangote Cement doles out more incentives to distributors [Sun, The (Nigeria)]


(Sun, The (Nigeria) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dangote Cement Plc yesterday assured its distributors in the South West of enhanced bonuses and better delivery services in appreciation of their patronage.

This is even as the distributors have commended the company for it's quality product and the increased production output, which they noted, will soon reduce the price of cement in the country At a distributors' forum held in Ibadan, the Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, Knut Ulvmoen, explained that Dangote Cement is currently producing 19.25 million Mtpa from its three plants in Obajana, Gboko and Ibese and that by the end of this year, additional 9 million would have been added from the 6 million Mtpa new lines in Ibese and 3 million Mtpa new line in Obajana.



Ulvmoen stated that the company decided to hold the forum regularly so as to interface with the distributors and other customers.

According to him, the views gathered from the distributors would help Dangote Cement to improve on its service to the customers from payment to final delivery.


The Dangote Executive Director stated that the company intensified research efforts in order to produce quality products of international standard at a competitive price.

Also speaking, the Regional Director in charge of South West 1, Mrs Funmi Sanni, assured the distributors that the company would continue to give them superior product and better delivery services.

Dangote Cement according to her is the only indigenous cement firm with plants across Africa and as a result in better position to give the distributors the best product and product delivery services.

She recalled that N1.2 billion naira was given out early this year as sales bonus to the distributors all over the country and assured that the company was ready to increase that as much as there are increased sales recorded .

She pointed out that the need to ensure hitch free delivery cement to any where the distributors are was what prompted the Dangote to procure 5000 trucks so as to bear the burden of risks associated with product delivery instead of the distributors.

Mrs Sanni then urged the distributors to always call the attention of the Company to any issues they might be having and hear from the Company management stating that the management was always ready to attend to their needs.

The Regional Director disclosed that the Company has adopted a new payment platform called SAP, that will make payments for products easier and at the same time making the company receive an alert for the payment on time, to facilitate speedy collection of cement.

She told the distributors to let their customers know the difference between the 32.5 and 42.5 grades of cement and let them know that 42.5 produced by Dangote Cement is the better product fit for all building purposes as opposed to the 32.5 which is meant for plastering only.

In his own remark, Regional Director, Sales and Marketing, Adeyemi Fajobi detailed the efforts of the company in trying to manage the call centers operated by the company to deal with issues being raised by the distributors, He also spoke about the logistics and management of the depot by the Company during which he disclosed that more mega depots are being opened in the states in the South West to bring delivery nearer to the customers.

The distributors during the question and answer pleaded with Dangote cement not to back down on the quality of its product and also to see to the delay in the collection and delivery of the product.
