Augusta IT Training Information Session July 29


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) AUGUSTA, Maine, July 16 -- The Maine Department of Labor issued the following news release: The Augusta CareerCenter is partnering with Kennebec Valley Community College's Maine is IT! Initiative to provide awareness of low-cost computer certifications and degrees. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Augusta CareerCenter at 21 Enterprise Drive, Suite 2 in Augusta on July 29, 10:30 a.m. to noon.



The event will include an awareness and question-and-answer session for individuals interested in receiving basic-to-advanced computer training. These low-cost training sessions range from basic computer proficiency to advanced Cisco and Microsoft systems administration. One year certificates and associates degrees in computer technician or computer systems integration are also available.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O'Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
