GCS Joins Forces with Lockheed Martin on GSA Contract [Travel & Leisure Close - Up]

(Travel & Leisure Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GCS, in its role as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin, has been chosen by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide operation, maintenance, enhancement and development services in support of its application infrastructure.

GCS said in a release that under the CIO Applications, Maintenance, Enhancements, and Operations (CAMEO) contract, Lockheed Martin and its teammates will provide technical architecture development, security services, software development support and other services.

The company noted that the $400 million CAMEO contract has been awarded as a task order under the GSA Alliant contract and is available for all of GSA.

"This systems engineering services and solutions contract represents a strategic opportunity for us to expand our portfolio offerings and to build upon our excellent past performance at GSA in program management and acquisition," said Tanaz Shahrzad, GCS vice president, Civilian Solutions Group.

The primary objective of the task order is to transform the specialized applications required by GSA's Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) to fulfill its mission as the federal government's buyer. The Lockheed-GCS team will modernize these applications, systems and environments, which support the FAS business portfolios, while maintaining stability on critical systems.

"Lockheed Martin shares our commitment to supporting GSA's mission to deliver for the American taxpayer the best value in acquisition and technology services," said Shahrzad. "We are very excited to partner with them on this important undertaking." GCS provides professional services and solutions to federal government and industry clients nationwide.
