American Megatrends to Host Seminar Series on Aptio V UEFI BIOS in Munich: July 16 - 17, 2014

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 10 July 2014 Release date- 09072014 - MUNICH, GERMANY / NORCROSS, GEORGIA, USA - American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), a leader in BIOS, remote management and network storage innovations, is pleased to announce an upcoming two-day seminar series entitled 'Touch the Future with Aptio V: The Innovative UEFI BIOS' to be held on July 16th and 17th in Munich, Germany, hosted by its German subsidiary, American Megatrends International GmbH at the Novotel Munchen Messe Hotel.

During this event, which will be conducted primarily in English, technology experts will gather to take part in detailed presentations and discussions with AMI experts on applications and development tools for its Aptio V UEFI BIOS Firmware, which can significantly speed the development process and reduce time to market and development costs. This event is targeted primarily at development engineers, who are invited to join for either or both of the one-day seminars, as each brings a different individual focus.

First introduced in late 2012, Aptio V represents the latest generation of UEFI platform firmware from American Megatrends. Its drivers and modules support a wide range of industry standards and technologies, including ACPI Embedded Controller, PCI Express (PCIe), SATA, SMBIOS, USB 3.0, IPv6 networking, iSCSI Boot and Boot-to-SDIO. The Compatibility Support Module (CSM) ensures full compatibility with the existing firmware of traditional BIOS solutions.

The first day of the seminar will take place on Wednesday, July 16th from 9:00 am to 18:00 pm. This day is aimed primarily at developers who are already working with Aptio V and will devote some time to innovations in terms of ROM layout and support for ARM and Linux platforms. Ample time will be also provided for questions to the AMI experts, as well as wide-ranging discussion of BIOS features tailored to the needs of the participants.

The second day of the event, held Thursday, July 17th from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm, focuses on the transition from Aptio 4 to Aptio V from the developer's perspective. Those developers already using Aptio 4 will receive deep insight into the differences between the two versions of AMI's flagship UEFI firmware and the structure of Aptio V in this seminar.

As part of the agenda for the Thursday session, AMI will also conduct a basic seminar on UEFI firmware to show the contrast between it and classic BIOS. As one of the most experienced and widely-used BIOS and firmware manufacturers, American Megatrends has a deep history and knowledge to contribute to the discussion. Therefore, this presentation will be quite useful not only to developers, but also to professionals in IT management roles as well.
