Avid TDF fan accountant advocates adapting to eco ambition

(Cision Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) An accountant from London company Bambridge Accountants expects the legacy of the race to leave a carbon-free print on the country As London becomes loaded with lycra laced legs wrapping up route 3 of the Tour De France, one accounting expert is excited about the impact on the environment. This monumental cycling event is the biggest road race in the world; attracting visitors from around the world to both the UK and France's lively lanes. As the 94 mile Cambridge to London stage of the journey raced to Buckingham Palace, accountant Alistair Bambridge advocated the use of cycles as a means of transport.

Alistair said, "I cycle every day to work. I love being a part of the London landscape and watching it change as I go by. Cycling gives me a sense of unrivalled freedom in the city, plus it's helping to reduce Co2 emissions; in-line with governmental commitments (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachm ent_data/file/47621/1358-the-carbon-plan.pdf)." Our government have made the commitment to have reduced carbon emissions by 15% in 2020; having released the renewable heat initiative (https://www.gov.uk/government/policies/increasing-the-use-of -low-carbon-technologies/supporting-pages/renewable-heat-incentive-rhi) this year.

At Bambridge Accountants (http://www.bambridgeaccountants.co.uk/), the main focus is on providing accountancy services for actors, writers and other creatives; their morals built on the understanding that clients should receive exclusive, specialised advice suited to their individual needs. Through professional consultation, and honest and open communication with clients, the company provide solutions to unique monetary goals; often remotely and with minimum paperwork. "Our business naturally has a low impact on carbon emissions, since we use very little paperwork and have  a low turnover of office consumables", said Alistair. Coupled with his penchant for cycling and ecotourism, this makes businesses such as Alistair's one of the many small businesses contributing to a lower carbon Britain.

According to the Carbon Plan document (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment _data/file/47621/1358-the-carbon-plan.pdf), small businesses are responsible for up to 17% of the carbon emissions in the UK. As a man with money on his mind, Alistair said, "other businesses will be pleased to hear that they can actually make savings of up to 1.9% through reducing unnecessary carbon emitting procedures. That said, my area of expertise is advising people on tax returns, rather than carbon ones!" Such a high attention race as the Tour de France with so many supporters has been fantastic for tourism in smaller villages and towns across England, with Royal attention focused on Le Grand Depart in Harrogate over the weekend. As competitors embrace the Lille leg of the journey business is back to usual for  Alistair Bambridge. However he said, "I for one hope to see the Tour De France legacy live long in the cities .
