(Intelligencer Journal (Lancaster, PA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LANCASTER: A $400 black Toshiba laptop was taken from a home in the 700 block of Third Street between 5 p.m. Sunday and 11:18 a.m. Monday.

MANHEIM TWP.: An apartment in the first block of Waverly Avenue was entered through a window between June 26 and Saturday. A safe was taken.

LANCASTER: A burglar pushed in a window air-conditioner and took two DVD players from a home in the 500 block of East King Street Friday. Loss was $100.

EAST HEMPFIELD TWP.: A round metal milk can and lid was taken from a home in the 3300 block of Columbia Avenue Friday. Loss was $350.

MILLERSVILLE: Ellen E. Newcomer, 46, no address given, and Lauren E. Wood, 26, of Lancaster, were charged with burglary and related offenses after police said they broke into a home in the 300 block of Manor Avenue and stole jewelry between June 13 and 18. Some of the jewelry has been recovered.



EAST HEMPFIELD TWP.: Four tires on a vehicle in the 100 block of Colonial Crest Drive were punctured on Saturday. Damage was $550.

MANHEIM TWP.: Latoya N. Batty, 37, of York, was cited Monday after allegedly causing a disturbance in the lobby of Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road.


LANCASTER: Melissa Gibsonof, 27, of the 500 block of West James Street, was charged Saturday at her home with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

LANCASTER: Miguel Barcenas-Torres, 32, of the 500 block of North Plum Street, caused a disturbance in his block Friday, police said. They charged him with public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia.

MARTIC TWP.: Jorge G. Ortiz Perez, 27, of Lancaster, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Gabriella J. Felpel, 25, of Lancaster, was charged June 15. Police said he grabbed the steering wheel of Felpel's car at a turn in the road while the two were having an altercation. The vehicle struck a tree head on. Felpel suffered minor injuries.

MANHEIM: John Bourne, 36, of Maple Avenue, Camp Hill, was charged June 8 after a traffic stop in the first block of East Gramby Street. He was also in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

RAPHO TWP.: Michelle E. Hendrickson, 38, of Naftzinger Road, was charged May 31 after a one-car crash in the 2700 block of North Colebrook Road.

RAPHO TWP.: Russell P. McDaniels, 51, of Lebanon, was charged May 27 after a three-car crash in the 1200 block of Lebanon Road.

LANCASTER: Carlos D. Ortiz-Nieves, 31, of the 500 block of Dauphin Street, is being charged, police said, after trying to cash a counterfeit payroll check for $776.92 in the 100 block of East King Street Monday.

NEW HOLLAND: Antonio Wessells was arrested Monday on charges of sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities after he tried to buy a .45-caliber handgun Feb. 19 at The Sportsman's Shop, 101 W. Main St., police said.

He filled out the necessary paperwork for the background check, indicating he had never been arrested for a crime which could have resulted in more than one year in prison.

Wessells was arrested in 2010 and was denied the firearm after the background check. New Holland police were notified in June and filed the charges against Wessells. He was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

LANCASTER: A woman was walking toward Strawberry Street on St. Joseph Street shortly before 4 a.m. Friday when a man came from behind, took her purse and ran toward Filbert Street.

FULTON TWP.: Police say a Peach Bottom man assaulted an Avondale man Wednesday because he refused to party with him.

State police were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Black Barren Road for a report of a fight shortly before 12:30 a.m., Trooper James Spencer said in a press release.

Richard Edgar Hill tackled an Avondale man and then struck him in the head with a glass hummingbird feeder because he was "refusing to party with him." Before police arrived, Hill fled toward Maryland, Spencer said. He will be charged with simple assault before District Judge Stuart Mylin.

LANCASTER: Vincent J. Palmer, 25, of the 400 block of East King Street, was charged after he punched a 24-year-old woman in the stomach and face in the 300 block of Beaver Street Monday, police said.

LANCASTER: Landscape flowers valued at $200 were taken in the 500 block of North Duke Street Saturday.

EPHRATA TWP.: Police were called to Wal-Mart, 890 E. Main St., Tuesday for a couple who cut open packaging and concealed a computer in a diaper bag. As police arrived, the pair spoke to someone on a cellphone and then hid the bag and computer in the store and tried to leave.

They were taken into custody and identified as Victor Antonio Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 38, and Rebekah Gonzalez, 23. They had their 3- year-old son with them. Victor had a razor knife used to open the packaging and both had stolen jewelry from the store. The two are each being charged with retail theft, possession of instruments of a crime, corruption of minors and conspiracy. They were released and will receive court summonses. Their child was placed in the care of a relative.

MANHEIM TWP.: Doris Mercado, 42, of Columbia Avenue, was cited with taking $77 worth of clothing Monday at Wal-Mart, 2030 Fruitville Pike.

EAST LAMPETER TWP.: Christopher Lee Brkopac, 22, East Lampeter Township, was charged with taking DVDs Monday at Wal-Mart, 2034 Lincoln Highway East. Based on prior retail theft charges, he was committed to Lancaster County Prison.

LANCASTER: A white iPhone valued at $150 was taken Sunday in the 500 block of First Street.

LANCASTER: A car in the 800 block of East Madison Street was entered Saturday. Taken was a JVC stereo head unit valued at $100, and a wallet with credit cards and $30 cash.

LANCASTER: Adrienne M. Kohler, 28, of Reading, was cited Saturday at Park City Center after allegedly concealing six clothing items valued at about $86.97.

MANHEIM TWP.: Angela M. Jones, 27, of Park Avenue, Ephrata, was charged June 25 after she was observed leaving Oregon Dairy, 2900 Oregon Pike, without paying for razors.

LANCASTER: A purse was taken in the 500 block of North Duke Street between June 14 and Friday. Loss was $130.

MANHEIM: Brent Defrain, 18, of South Charlotte Street, Manheim, was charged June 21 after he allegedly broke into a parked car in the 100 block of South Wolf Street, stole an owners' manual, and used it to start a fire.
