AGP constitutes inquiry committee to probe Lahore office incidents


(Balochistan Times (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Auditor General of Pakistan Muhammad Akhtar Buland Rana has constituted a fact finding inquiry committee to probe incidents occurred in Accountant General Punjab Office Lahore on June 27, 2014.



The committee comprising two 21 grade officers of AGP office, namely Javaid Jehangir, Deputy Auditor General (District Audit) and Mrs Naghma Ashfaq Sheikh, Deputy Auditor General (Audit Policy),says a press release.

This incident was reported in print/ electronic media. The terms of references (TORs) of the committee are: to find out the causes of disturbance/ law and order situation created on 27/06/2014 in AG Punjab, Lahore, to find out what were the real motives behind this untoward situation, to investigate why the doors of some of the officers posted in AG office Lahore were broken and why the officers acted like hooligans as shown in the electronic media -forcing AG Punjab to relinquish charge, to investigate any fraud occurred in the office especially during the last days of June 2014, to investigate issuance of cheque against fake bills (as reported in the print media) and to investigate the culprits behind these fraudulent activities.
