(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The data from Assocham and Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) shows that the online shoppers in India would more than double to 14 percent by 2015-2016 from 6 percent in 2013- 2014. The e-commerce market in the country is likely to touch $56 billion in 2023 from $16 billion in 2012. The online shopping rose to 155 percent in summer of 2014 from 85 percent in 2013. Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore are the top three online
shopping cities. About 34 percent of total Internet users are from small towns and 25 percent from rural areas. The total Internet users in the country stood at 150 million as of Aug 2013 with 57 percent of them in the age group of 25+.
