India : AIRCEL users gain free to access to WIKIPIDEDIA contents [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aircel, which is one of the most rapidly expanding mobile operators in India has recently been focusing on bolstering its ecosystem to drive data expansion in most of the circles in India. The carrier also underscored its partnerships with other firms to further boost the data penetration in Karnataka circle and other circles, at an event held in Bangalore recently. Furthermore, Aircel has also been trying to use the collaborations to attract mobile data users. The firm has in the same line announced its joint venture with the Wikimedia foundation which operates Wikipedia and other patented verticals in a non-profit basis. The partnership provides Aircel users with free access to Wikipedia contents. Aircel, said "By April, the agreement resulted in 9% of Aircel users accessing Wikipedia on their mobile phones, which translates into a total of 1.5 Million subscribers."
