Yahsat Set to Launch Third Satellite in Africa


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) UAE-based satellite operator Yahsat plans to launch its third satellite service in Africa as it extends its coverage to 17 countries and 600 million users, expanding its coverage across the Middle East, Africa and South West and Central Asia.



Scheduled to launch in 2016, the Al Yah 3 satellite service will strengthens Yahsat's position as the world's eighth largest operator in terms of revenue and affirms its position as a leader in innovative satellite solutions.

The broadband through the satellite, YahClick will support the social and economic development of the continent by connecting the masses.


The Al Yah 3 will use advanced technology with a unique design that optimizes cost, capacity, coverage and flexibility to deliver affordable broadband to homes and business across Africa.

Masood Sharif Mahmood, CEO, Yahsat said Al Yah 3 marks another milestone in expanding its footprint to new markets, enhancing existing ones as well as reinforcing its global presence in providing reliable, innovative and affordable satellite solutions.

He said the African market is ready for internet connectivity and his firm is confident to provide broadband services across this new frontier.
