Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan Says Congrats to FierceWireless Fierce 15 Wireless Startups - 2014

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 29, 2014 FierceWireless publishes an annual list called Fierce 15 of wireless startups, says their article published June 12.

Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

"Smartphones in the last few years like the Apple iPhone and Google Android have created so many brand new companies and technologies in the wireless space. Companies that make smartphones, mobile applications and those that offer features and functionality that is new and innovative. That continues to transform the wireless industry," says Wireless Analyst Jeff Kagan.

A few short years ago apps were the focus as FierceWireless focused on companies like Illume Software, iZup, Swype, Dropbox, Flipboard and Square.

"While apps are still a growing segment in the wireless industry, growth has expanded and there are other areas that are set for rapid growth going forward including cellular and Wi-Fi," Principal analyst Kagan.

"The entire industry is starting to focus on newer key areas and trends like increasing use of wireless data traffic, carriers search for more spectrum, more appliances and devices inside and outside the home, the Internet of Things and Wi-Fi to name a few," says Technology analyst Kagan.

FierceWireless says their Fierce 15 this year have been chosen based on the most innovative and smart emerging companies in the wireless industry. To qualify a company must be privately held, well funded, emerging, founded in the last decade or so, and have the potential to be a major player in the industry going forward.

FierceWireless prefers to select firms based in the United States. If not the company should at least conduct significant business in the US. The reason is that is where the majority of FierceWireless readers are located.

"These are not the only companies. There are so many others as well. I like to follow and help many of them get the word out and get on the radar. The rest is up to them. This is such an exciting time in the industry once again," says Kagan.

"So congratulations to these Fierce 15 companies. The list is exciting once again this year full of companies with ideas that can indeed change the industry," says Tech analyst Kagan.
