OpenDNS Appoints Burt Podbere as New CFO [Manufacturing Close - Up](Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) OpenDNS said that it has appointed Burt W. Podbere as its new Chief Financial Officer. In its release, OpenDNS said that Podbere brings to the Company more than 20 years of financial and operations management experience with both pre-IPO and post-IPO technology companies. He most recently served as CFO of networking company Net Optics, driving growth that resulted in its successful acquisition by Ixia in December 2013. OpenDNS said that it is experiencing rapid growth and demand for its cloud-delivered enterprise security services. The company recently reported a $35 million investment from several Silicon Valley venture capital firms and networking giant Cisco to capture more market share and invest in R&D, support, sales and marketing. "Burt brings to OpenDNS a terrific combination of deep financial oversight experience, exceptional strategic thinking and a track record of success with high-growth technology companies," said David Ulevitch, CEO of OpenDNS. "More importantly, Burt brings an incredible infectiously positive energy to the company, and we are excited to have him on board to help us navigate this exciting phase of geometric growth we're experiencing." Podbere managed the successful IPO of Epocrates, an athenahealth company and developer of the U.S. point-of-care medical application for physicians.
