Three New Board Members Assume Office at HFMA


(Marketwire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LAS VEGAS, NV --(Marketwired - June 24, 2014) - During its annual conference in Las Vegas, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors for the 2014-17 term: Martin Arrick, Michael Dewerff, and Carole Faig.



The new Board members bring financial acumen from various healthcare settings to their new roles with HFMA.

Martin Arrick, MBA, MPH, is managing director in the corporate and government ratings group at Standard & Poor's Ratings Services. He is the senior analytical leader and group spokesman for the not-for-profit healthcare group. Based in New York, Arrick leads a team of healthcare analysts throughout the country. He has authored numerous publications and special reports on the healthcare sector.


Michael Dewerff, FHFMA, CPA, MBA, is chief financial officer of UnityPoint Health, an integrated health system in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Previously, he served as CFO of Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa, and held leadership roles with Banner Health and the accounting firm Eide Bailly.

Carole Faig, CPA, is audit partner and healthcare market segment leader for the Southwest region, Ernst & Young, Houston. She has served on the Women's Home governing board, the BioHouston advisory board, and the advisory board for Rice University's Alliance for Entrepreneurship.
