GigaSpaces and SanDisk Partner to Deliver Greater Scalability and Performance to Real-Time Analytics and In-Memory Computing Applications

GigaSpaces Technologies, a provider of in-memory computing and cloud orchestration technologies, and SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), a global leader in flash storage solutions, today announced a strategic partnership to deliver a new solution that enables customers to obtain the full performance, scalability and cost benefits of flash storage.

GigaSpaces' (News - Alert) XAP MemoryXtend integrates SanDisk's ZetaScale™ software, which optimizes applications to use flash technology, with GigaSpaces' XAP in-memory computing platform. XAP MemoryXtend enables customers to store, process and analyze data near the speed of DRAM memory at the cost of flash storage. The solution will support application data growth to 100s of terabytes using in-memory data grid building blocks.

XAP MemoryXtend provides both persistent storage and the opportunity to run much larger datasets for analytics. XAP MemoryXtend enables the creation of a hybrid architecture which is both RAM (News - Alert) and flash storage-based, thus enabling datasets to extend beyond DRAM and into flash storage. With XAP MemoryXtend real-time analytics and in-memory computing customers will be able to process larger datasets at near DRAM speed at the cost of flash storage thereby delivering more Transactions Per Second (TPS) per dollar¹. /p>

XAP MemoryXtend is agnostic to the underlying flash storage and supports PCIe, SAS (News - Alert), SATA, DIMMs or NVMe flash storage devices from any vendor, giving GigaSpaces customers maximum flexibility to choose the device that best fits their needs.
