Business Owner Dedicated To Helping Westchester Nonprofits, Speaks At United Way's Leadership Summit

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Elmsford,NY (PRWEB) June 24, 2014 Joe Guilderson, President of Elmsford-based Corporate Audio Visual Services, recently spoke at the United Way's Not-For-Profit Leadership Summit XII in Tarrytown. This year's United Way summit, held on May 5 at the DoubleTree Hotel, brought together "volunteer and professional leaders in the Not-For-Profit sector to identify emerging challenges and opportunities, shape new leadership strategies and build organizations that excel." "Helping to support nonprofits and giving back locally ties us to the communities that we live in, helps us do our part to support our communities, and live events are one of the main methods of fundraising for nonprofits," Guilderson said.

The Westchester-based Corporate AV specializes in providing audiovisual production and tech support services to corporate, nonprofit and healthcare markets, and has been in operation since 1985. Guilderson's company handles over 150 nonprofit, fundraising events each year.

The Elmsford-based business prides itself on how it helps charities with their fundraising events and efforts through technology.

"We found that no one really wanted to enter this market because they figured nonprofit meant NO PROFIT.," Guilderson said. "You do have to be creative in budgeting, no question about it. That is why our focus is on the goals of the event.

"Corporate AV knows how to recommend the best uses for the budget that is there, and if there is a way to help them generate more revenue, then we offer solutions via technology to do that. That is one of the reasons we got involved with Bid Pal – the country's largest silent auction technology. It was a fit for our clients," he noted.

His company has been a longtime supporter of the local community and charities including: ArtsWestchester, the American Heart Association, Make a Wish Foundation, and Support Connection. Corporate AV has worked on events for Northern Westchester Hospital, Maria Ferrari Children's Hospital, Hudson Valley Hospital, Blythedale Children's Hospital, and White Plains Hospital.

At the United Way's event, Guilderson was part of a panel discussion entitled, "From Basics To Brilliance - Finding The Wow Factor For Your Event." Janet Pollack, Vice President of Development at Planned Parenthood moderated the event and fellow panelists included: Rose Cappa-Rotunno, President of Cappa Crucy & Co; David Pelton, Director of Catering, Sales and Operations of the NY Hospitality Group; Joseph Pugni, Jr., President of Joseph Richard Florals, LLC; and Donvil Collins, Founder & CEO of VeeKast.
