Gravis Marketing Poll: Kingston Holds 11 Percentage Point Adavantage Over Perdue

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, conducted a random survey of 1140 Georgia likely Republican primary voters regarding Republican Senate candidates by automated calls to landlines, June 11 and 12, 2014. The poll carries a margin of error of ± 3%. Gravis contacted registered voters on voter lists provided by the State.

In the latest Gravis Marketing poll David Perdue finished first in the May 20 Georgia Republican primary for U.S. Senate over Jack Kingston 31% to 26%. This advantage has been overturned, according to the recent Gravis poll; Jack Kingston has assumed an 11-point lead over Perdue with the July 22, 2014 primary run off looming to determine who will face Democrat Michelle Nunn for the Senate seat.

Highlights of the poll include:    •  Voters were asked, "If the election for the Republican Senate Primary were held today, would you vote for Jack Kingston or David Perdue?" 49% of the voters polled indicated a likely vote for Jack Kingston, with only 38% expressing support for David Perdue. Of these voters 14% stated that they were undecided as to their vote.

   •  Voters were also asked, "How likely are you to vote in the Republican Primary runoff On July 22nd?" 79% of voters polled stated that they "very likely" would be voting while 16% expressed that they would "likely" vote. Only 5% stated that they were "somewhat likely" to vote in the July 22, 2014 primary.
