Panasonic Expands Market Reach with New IP Telecommunications Server, Introduces Advanced IP and Digital Endpoints

NEWARK, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

Panasonic (News - Alert), a leading provider of business telephone systems1, today announced the new KX-NS1000, an advanced IP Business Telecommunications Server that is suited for a wide range of business customers. The new IP business telecommunications platform integrates with existing communication infrastructures to offer users a highly flexible, cost-effective solution capable of scaling and adapting to meet the changing needs of today's fast-paced business environment.

With the announcement of the KX-NS1000, Panasonic also introduced a new series of IP and digital telephones to compliment the full suite of connection options. The new KX-NT550 series achieves high-definition sound and supports the full range of business telephone system features. The new KX-DT500 series of digital telephones delivers significant improvements in voice quality.

Maximize Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Communication

Because the KX-NS1000 is a pure IP-based communications system, it maximizes the advantages associated with Internet telephony communication, helping to lower overall communications costs and offering a high return on investment with its grow-as-you-go capabilities. Advanced features include support for new high-definition voice quality telephones and seamless integration with desktop applications for Unified Communications, Presence, Chat Over Communications Assistant and third-party applications such as Commsoft (News - Alert) or Poltys.

Ideal for Multi-site Environments

A variety of teleconferencing and call routing functions make working at or away from the office more efficient. Call grouping and call routing features ensure that all calls are routed to the appropriate person regardless of their location; headquarters, branch or home office. In addition, because the KX-NS1000 integrates smart phones and tablets with the business communications network, customers are no longer required to have multiple contact numbers for users who also have a cell phone, allowing mobile phones to be used just like office extensions.

"We've found Panasonic's Business Telecommunications Server to be an outstanding solution toward improving campus-wide communication," said Glenn Benjamin, Principal of St. Jude Regional Catholic School. "The NS1000's flexible integration options have enabled us to scale the upgrade of our technology infrastructure, reduce monthly telephony costs and enhance our school's safety and security."

The KX-NS1000 Business Communication Server also integrates with Panasonic's full line of IP and SIP-based desktop phones as well as our business DECT (News - Alert) handsets, which allows calls to desk extension phones to be transferred to wireless handsets and vice vera, enabling workers to be mobile and yet stay in touch with customers and other staff in multi-site locations such as campuses, hospitals, warehouses and more. With the Multi-Cell DECT wireless system, customers can choose from a variety of wireless solutions that deliver a high quality, secure signal and a choice of handsets including rugged and compact options.

Flexibility to Integrate With Existing Infrastructure and Grow

"The rich feature set of our new IP Business Telecommunications server makes it a great choice for small offices with a few dozen users, but can easily scale to support larger enterprises with multiple locations and more than 1000 users," said Kim Murtagh, Product Manager for Panasonic Business Telephone Systems. "Its One-look Networking feature enables customers to streamline their communications infrastructure by seamlessly integrating multiple locations into one network."

With One-look Networking, a single IP Business Telecommunications Server can support up to sixteen locations and be managed via a web-based maintenance console. Additionally, One-look Networking businesses can count on a highly reliable system with low failure rates. In the unlikely event of a problem with the KX-NS1000 server, the system will temporarily failover to a backup master site and continue communications services without interruption.

Pricing and Availability

The KX-NS1000 comes with a 2-year warranty and is available immediately through authorized resellers at an MSRP of $8500 for a standard 30 user configuration. The KX-DT500 and KX-NT550 series are available immediately starting at an MSRP of $200 and $299, respectively.
