NWP Submeter Adds High Usage Alerts for Electricity to Meter Assurance Plan

As a core element of the Meter Assurance Plan (MAP), NWP Submeter Systems and Services' recurring maintenance program, the Leak Detection and High Usage Program is designed to quickly inform the property staff of potential leaks or high electric usage through alerts which trigger only when usage has been flagged as extreme and provides specific recommendations with actions to be taken. If a property is submetered and enrolled in MAP, it will receive alerts from NWP Submeter identifying concerns about potential issues within hours of occurrence.

NWP Submeter's Leak Detection and High Usage Program has been designed to avoid any unnecessary actions by property staff from false positives and an alert will only be sent when potential issues are identified at a property. With electric alerts, that means the thresholds have been set by time of year and location. The units identified on the alerts with extreme electric usage are notified to check for broken seals on doors and windows and to determine if any old appliances should be replaced.
