Coriant to Exhibit at Light Reading's Inaugural 'Big Telecom Event' in Chicago

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CTO Uwe Fischer to Speak at 'From 100G to 400G to...' Session.

Naperville, IL - Coriant, a global supplier of dynamic metro-to-core transport solutions, today announced it will exhibit at Light Reading's "Big Telecom Event" in Chicago, Illinois, from June 17-18, 2014 (Booth #G7). Coriant CTO, Uwe Fischer, will be a featured speaker during the 'From 100G to 400G to ...' session on Tuesday, June 17. Additionally, Coriant's Jonathan Sadler, Vice Chair of the OIF Technical Committee, will speak at the pre-conference workshop 'OIF Work Update' on Monday, June 16.

The Big Telecom Event (BTE) was developed by Light Reading in partnership with leading industry organizations, including SDN pioneer the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), as the first industry gathering to bridge the gap in telecom between technology know-how and business acumen. Industry areas will include SDN/NFV and the carrier cloud, Ethernet, telco data centers, service orchestration, packet-optical transport, mobile backhaul, mobile network security, 4G/small cells, service provider IT, content management, and business services.

In the first quarter of this year, Coriant introduced Dynamic Optical CloudTM, an end-to-end, highly programmable infrastructure solution that enables service providers to cost-effectively address a rapidly changing world of dynamic, virtualized, high-bandwidth applications and services. The Coriant Dynamic Optical Cloud solution is powered by proven metro-to-core packet optical networking capabilities and industry-leading software-defined networking (SDN) intelligence for a new level of programmability, automation and control of multilayer, multi-vendor transport networks.

As business and consumer demand for cloud-based connectivity increases and traffic loads in wide area networks become progressively unpredictable, service providers require an elastic end-to-end infrastructure that mirrors the flexibility, scalability and programmability of compute and storage resources in the data center - for all services. Coriant has worked with several Tier 1 operators around the world to define the SDN use cases and implementations for the Dynamic Optical Cloud's software-defined multilayer programmability.

"We welcome Light Reading to the Chicago area and we are pleased to join our customers at BTE. Over the past year, our Coriant team has made great strides in terms of technology and product development," commented Jayne Chace, Chief Marketing Officer for Coriant. "Coriant's vision is to redefine optical networks with scalable end-to-end solutions, which enable customers to take advantage of the era of hypergrowth driven by mobility, video, data centers and cloud services. The Coriant end-to-end portfolio of intelligent, multi-layer transport solutions enables network operators to reduce network complexity, increase service velocity, and improve resource utilization as transport networks scale in response to a new generation of dynamic services and applications." Details of the Coriant presentations at BTE are: - Monday, June 16th at 4:05pm CT, pre-conference workshop with Jonathan Sadler, Technical Committee Chair for the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) - 'OIF Work Update' - Tuesday, June 17th at 1:30pm CT, Uwe Fischer, CTO - 'From 100G to 400G to....'
