Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy Congratulates Class of 2014

MANISTEE, Mich. --(Business Wire)--

Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA), a tuition-free online public school for students in Michigan, will honor its graduates during a 2014 ceremony taking place this Saturday, June 14th at 2 p.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Lansing. Approximately 7 students will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas and make history as MGLVA's first graduating class.

"We're extremely proud to celebrate our first graduating class, a talented group of diverse young scholars," said Kendall Schroeder, Head of Scool for Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy. "Our MGLVA community, full of students and caring parents and teachers, shares a common drive and determination for success. During the graduation ceremony we recognize not only the achievements of our students and faculty, but also the encouragement and support of their families, who directly contributed to crafting such an impressive program. By beginning a new adventure at this stage in their education, and finding success, these students have proven that anything is possible!"

Schroeder is the ceremony's keynote speaker. Schroeder is passionate about using the virtual environment to provide students and their families with a well-rounded, personalized education that is not possible in a traditional brick-and-mortar setting.

MGLVA, an online public school authorized by Manistee Area Public Schools, is open to students statewide in grades K-12. To help raise awareness of the program, MGLVA hosts a variety of free events in communities across the state, as well as online information sessions. At upcoming events, families are welcome to speak with school representatives about how students are succeeding at MGLVA.

Families can find more information on upcoming events and how to enroll by visiting: www.k12.com/mglva.
