Edgewater Networks (News - Alert) announced that Gernot Scheichl, VP of Support and Services, will address the SIP Network Operator's Conference (SIPNOC 2014) on the topic of interoperability of enterprise videoconferencing and voice services.

Titled "When Voice Meets Video - How SIP and H.323 Can Coexist," Scheichl's presentation will review strategies for managing the interoperability of legacy enterprise videoconferencing systems based on the h.323 protocol with the latest Unified Communications (News - Alert) systems that integrate voice, video and collaboration features and are based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). It will cover the challenges and opportunities in developing an ecosystem where these two protocols can seamlessly interoperate to ensure a quality end-user experience.

The fourth annual SIPNOC conferene is presented by the SIP Forum (News - Alert), the leading industry association focused on the advancement of IP communications products and services based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). It is a unique event for service providers and carriers to gather to discuss the challenges of deploying and implementing SIP-based communications technology, and to learn the best-practices and strategies that enable the successful and profitable operation of SIP-based services and applications.



The four day conference is taking place at the Hyatt Dulles Hotel in Herndon, VA from June 9-12, 2014. Scheichl's presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11 at 12 pm ET.
