REDWOOD CITY, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

C3 Energy, a leading provider of Smart Grid Analytics SaaS solutions for energy companies, announced that Tom Siebel, C3 (News - Alert) Energy Chairman and CEO, presented his vision yesterday for smart grid analytics at the 2014 Energy Datapalooza, an event hosted by the White House, the Department of Energy, and the General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)).

A select group of energy and technology leaders from the federal government, industry, and academia joined in a daylong series of presentations and discussions regarding how the power of data can build a clean energy economy. C3 Energy was invited to participate due to its leadership in the field of smart grid analytics and its cutting edge technologies for transforming the unprecedented volumes of data from the smart grid into actionable insights for both energy companies and end consumers.

In addition to Tom Siebel, the event featured the following speakers: Ernest Moniz, U.S. Secretary of Energy; Jon Podesta, Counselor to the President; John Holdren, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Director, Office of Science and Technology Policy; Todd Park, U.S. Chief Technology Officer; and Dan Tangherlini, Administrator, General Services Administration. "We regard the federal government as a key partner in realizing the promise of the smart grid and directing the flow of information that the smart grid creates. Initiatives like the Green Button initiative demonstrate the deep level of thought around important issues like data standardization, data integration, and data privacy," said Mr. Siebel. "The Department of Energy and the General Services Administration are with us at the forefront in terms of thinking about how data can be used to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of power delivery as well as improve the use of energy in government buildings, helping to safeguard our resources and ensure clean, affordable energy for America's future."
