Symphony Teleca, One of the First to Deliver System Integration Capabilities for Intel® In-Vehicle Solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Symphony Teleca Corporation (STC), announced today a production-ready in-vehicle infotainment solution based on new Intel (News - Alert)® In-Vehicle Solutions. Symphony Teleca's solution, based on the Intel platform, is designed to accelerate development time and lower total cost of ownership for in-vehicle technologies across a manufacturer's entire product line. Symphony Teleca (News - Alert) will showcase its complete portfolio of In-Vehicle Solutions and Services for the Connected Car at the Telematics Detroit 2014 in Novi, MI June 4-5, 2014.

The combined strengths of Symphony Teleca and Intel provide automotive OEMs and Tiers with a fast, secure and robust track for bringing complete solutions and innovative technologies for the connected car. The collaboration will help accelerate technology development and adoption in the automotive ecosystem that will benefit drivers and passengers in many ways.

"Thanks to our work with Intel there's an outstanding opportunity for OEMs and Tier 1's to deliver production-ready, fully connected vehicles to the marketplace significantly faster and at a lower cost," said Dean Miles, Senior Vice President, Symphony Teleca. "Our software integration excellence allows OEMs and Tier 1's to provide an application-ready environment that meets the latest consumer expectations for connected digital experiences in the car."

"Intel In-Vehicle Solutions, in combination with Symphony Teleca's software integration services, willhelp deliver huge time and cost savings to our customers," said Elliot Garbus, Vice President and General Manager, Intel Automotive Solutions Division. "Fast time-to-market is critical to our automotive customers, and system integrators like Symphony Teleca will help to further accelerate the process. Intel's new products combined with Symphony Teleca's software integration excellence - all designed to meet consumer expectations via the application-ready environment for connected digital experiences - will also allow automakers to more readily integrate innovative solutions including over-the-air (OTA) software updates or Ethernet-AVB."

Intel In-Vehicle Solutions are a family of integrated, pre-validated, automotive-grade hardware and software, including operating system and essential automotive middleware, that come application-ready to meet consumer expectations for connected digital experiences in the car. These platforms support advanced in-vehicle infotainment systems and some of the advanced driver assistance capabilities now expected by consumers.

Symphony Teleca's successful launch of a production-ready, fully integrated solution based on Intel technology in October 2013 brought a fully featured Linux-powered In-Vehicle Head Unit to mass production. Symphony Teleca is now working on a second production-ready, fully connected product based on new Intel In-Vehicle Solutions that will dramatically lower total cost of ownership for in-vehicle technologies across a manufacturer's entire product line. Through the pre-integrated and validated hardware and software, Symphony Teleca expects manufacturers will now be able to shrink time to market for a new product to only 12-18 months while still having a fully customizable platform that is prepared to support additional features like the Symphony Teleca software Over-The-Air (OTA) platform or Ethernet-AVB stack.
