NetSpeed and Carbon Partner to Enable Coherent Virtual Prototypes

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ACTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/29/14 -- Carbon Design Systems, the leading supplier of accurate virtual prototype solutions, and Netspeed Systems, provider of scalable, coherent, on-chip network IP, announced today that they have partnered to enable NetSpeed to use Carbon solutions for internal development and end-customer enablement.

As part of the partnership, NetSpeed will have access to the full range of Carbon solutions including Carbon Performance Analysis Kits (CPAKs) containing the most advanced SoC processor intellectual property (IP), Carbon SoCDesigner for fast, accurate system modeling and Carbon Model Studio for 100% accurate model creation.

In addition, NetSpeed customers will be able to create 100% accurate virtual models of NetSpeed's current and future interconnect offerings at the Carbon IP Exchange web portal. Designers using NetSpeed IP will also have access to CPAKs featuring NetSpeed IP in combination with IP and software from ARM®, Cadence® and other leading SoC IP and system software vendors.

"NetSpeed is designing the next generation of advanced on-chip network interconnect," stated Sundari Mitra, CEO and co-founder at NetSpeed. "Carbon CPAKs enable designers to quickly validate the features of our IP. The ability to run real system software on an accurate virtual prototype highlights our next generation coherency capabilities." "We've seen strong interest from our customer base for CPAKs featuring NetSpeed's interconnect," added Rick Lucier, president and CEO at Carbon. "By coupling 100% accurate models of NetSpeed's coherent interconnect together with our accurate models of other leading IP in a family of CPAKs, customers will have the ability to quickly validate the behavior of their advanced SoC designs." Carbon at DAC Carbon will exhibit in the ARM® Connected Community Booth #2001 during 51st Design Automation Conference (DAC) demonstrating its system-level virtual prototype solutions and virtual prototype models. DAC will be held Monday, June 2, through Wednesday, June 4, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Moscone Center, San Francisco. More information about DAC can be found at: www.dac.com.
